Abstract

This study analyse governance indicators (based on World Bank definition) and some of variables of health performance, educational, social and economic development during 1996 - 2006 for 35 countries selected from South East Asia, West Asia, Latin America and Africa. Generally, results of this study showes the governance improvement such as transparency, accountability, democracy, free speech, political stability and regularly electoral processes, the effectiveness of macroeconomic policies and public services, high quality rules and accurate regulatory, respect to physical and intellectual property rights and also control of corruption in the selected countries that has significant effects on promoting development indictors such as higher per capita income, higher life expectancy, higher health and care Level, developing information technology in society, more especial and public education, lower fertility rates per women, lower children mortality rates, lower unemployment rate and increasing of social welfare. Generally, in this studied groups, South East Asia countries have better performances in governance components and Consequent in development indicators mentioned above, and the Africans have worse performance.
